NOEMI FERRER

Noemí Ferrer, from Barcelona flamenco to the tablaos of Madrid

Noemí Ferrer began her flamenco training in Barcelona, where she built the technical and artistic foundations of her dance. She later broadened her learning with figures such as Farruquito, Juan Amaya, Antonio Canales, Eva Yerbabuena and Manuela Carrasco.

In 2015 she began her professional career in Barcelona and started to develop a stage presence of her own. Continued contact with the tablao became an important part of that growth, allowing her to work on improvisation, compás and the direct relationship with the musicians.

The Villa Rosa Prize and her professional development

In 2018 she won First Prize at the 7th Concurso de Tablaos Villa Rosa, a recognition that marked an important point in her career. Since then she has continued working in tablaos and flamenco venues, especially between Barcelona and Madrid.

Her path has been built gradually, combining training with maestros from different schools and the daily experience of the stage, where dance is put to a constant test in front of the audience.

Noemí Ferrer at Tablao La Carmela

At Tablao La Carmela, this background is set in a context where closeness and spontaneity are essential. The dance is built together with the cante and the guitar, and every performance requires being alert to what happens in the moment.

The tablao lets you appreciate both the technique and a dancer’s ability to hold silences, answer a llamada or change the intensity of a piece through the compás.

The ongoing learning of the tablao

A large part of a dancer’s growth happens on stage. The tablao forces you to listen, adapt and make decisions in real time, something that complements the training received in class.

Noemí Ferrer’s career reflects precisely that process: study with great maestros, professional experience from a young age and an increasingly consolidated presence on the flamenco circuit.
