With deep artistic roots—Mario Maya, Manolete, Juan Maya Marote—he has toured the world since the age of 3, becoming a leading figure in flamenco dance and the artistic director of Madrid’s most renowned flamenco tablao.

A historic corner in the very center of Madrid

La Carmela, Madrid’s flamenco tablao, is located in the former coal cellars of the “La Carmela” tavern, inside the old Convent of La Victoria, demolished in 1836 after the Peninsular War.

Tali, the goddess of the show, captivated us with her words, conveying the beautiful performance with passion and great wisdom—and thanks to her we went into La Carmela and bought our tickets!!!! We went to Juan Andrés Maya’s tablao and booked with Natalia, a very kind and attentive girl. Of the many tablaos we’ve been to in Madrid, this one seemed the best by far—truly an excellent show. 🩰❤️🎤 A flamenco show that’s different, original, and entertaining, set in a spacious cave. Lots of passion, excellent performances, and very talented artists. The restaurant is spacious too and offers a high-quality culinary selection, especially for such a central area. The burrata is top quality, and the zamburiñas (small scallops) with kimchi are very tasty as well. Attentive, fast service and an international vibe.
