María Cruz, a new voice in flamenco dance
María Cruz is a Madrid-born dancer who caught the attention of a wide audience through her participation in Got Talent España in 2021. At nineteen she reached the grand final of the show and made flamenco the centerpiece of her performances, receiving very positive reviews from both the judges and the public.
Her time on television was a window onto work built on training and effort. The show itself highlighted her stage control and her ability to use flamenco as a form of expression, even though she is shy off stage.
From Got Talent to the theater stage
During the Got Talent semifinals she was one of the contestants most voted by the public and secured her place in the final. Her performances showed different registers of dance and, in one of the most memorable moments of the competition, she took part in a tribute to flamenco tablaos.
After that experience she starred in Amores Flamencos, a show created by Carlos Rodríguez and presented in Madrid. The production brought together a large cast of dancers and musicians and offered a journey through different flamenco palos with live music.

The tablao is a different setting from a television studio or a large theater production. Here the dance takes place a few meters from the audience and depends on the immediate relationship with the guitar and the cante.
For a dancer of the new generation, this direct contact with the cuadro flamenco makes it possible to explore one of the essential dimensions of the genre: the ability to listen, respond and build each performance from the compás.
A young career in full development
María Cruz is part of a generation that has found new ways to bring flamenco to different audiences without giving up stage work. Her path combines training, television and theater productions.
At Tablao La Carmela, that path meets the tradition of live flamenco, a space in which every performance is a new opportunity to keep growing as a performer.
