SECURITY
The website uses information security techniques generally accepted in the industry, such as firewalls, access control procedures, and cryptographic mechanisms, all with the aim of preventing unauthorized access to data and possible theft thereof. To achieve these aims, the user/customer agrees that the provider may obtain data for the purpose of the corresponding authentication of access controls.
We offer 100% secure payment
At tiendaonline.com we guarantee that each transaction carried out is 100% secure.
All purchases you make on our website are endorsed by the secure server of the banking institution Banco Santander, so your data is protected and encrypted by the most advanced technology. It is therefore much safer to send your data to the banks’ Secure Server than to pay at a gas station, restaurant, etc.
What happens when I send my data over the network?
When you make a purchase and choose the payment method, at the moment you click the Pay by Card button the website connects to the Secure Server; from that moment you are browsing in a secure area and you enter your banking details on the bank’s Secure Server, which ensures that the operation meets the required security standards and carries out the transaction. Afterward, a confirmation appears and the buyer returns to the store.
Could anyone know the encryption key?
Each time a user connects to a Secure Server, it generates a random key for the session being established with the user, while the customer’s browser generates another, likewise random, which is used to identify the browser to the server.
If, at the moment a secure connection has been established, other users connect to the server, new keys are generated again to identify the participants in the connection.
The Secure Server ensures that the keys generated never coincide while multiple connections are being established simultaneously.
How do I know a secure connection has really been established?
You can tell if you have connected to a Secure Server if the URL address begins with “https://”. In addition, the most commonly used browsers indicate this graphically with an icon showing the user whether or not a secure connection exists (for example, in Internet Explorer a yellow closed padlock appears).
Which security protocol is used for transmissions?
The latest specifications of the standard Internet security protocol—SSL—are used for connections to the Secure Server.
Which financial institution guarantees the security of my transactions?
When you make a purchase with a debit or credit card in our Online Store, a connection is established with Banco Santander’s Secure Server, which provides all its experience and technological infrastructure to securely and efficiently support all electronic purchase transactions made at www.tiendaonline.com. When a payment request reaches Banco Santander’s Secure Server, it manages, in real time, the authorization or denial of payment for that purchase after verifying that all the data are correct to carry out the payment.
Where can I obtain more information?
If you would like more information on security matters, you can consult what Banco Santander provides on its website, www.bancosantander.es.
3D Secure
Banco Santander’s gateway is compatible with the new secure online payment protocols introduced by Visa and Mastercard. 3D Secure is the safest credit card payment system because it can authenticate the cardholder; it ensures that the customer using a card number is indeed its rightful owner. This is done using a secret code that your own bank will provide and that only you will know; in most cases this code can be requested online. For more information, please consult your bank’s website or contact them.
Very important
Our website only accepts payment with credit cards that are secured (3D Secure), so you will need a special key to shop online that must be provided by the financial institution that issued the card, making reference to the need to have the 3D Secure virtual key. We recommend using this 3D Secure system; you ensure that you are the only person who can make purchases with the card, making fraudulent use on the network impossible and guaranteeing the total security of transactions.
How do we protect your credit card payment?
tiendaonline.com uses a server based on one of the most reliable secure payment systems on the Internet: the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) security protocol. (If you want more information, visit www.ssl.com).
All your personal data and the information you send us travel encrypted over the network and are protected and encoded before being sent for processing.
For payment with Visa and Mastercard, only CES (Secure Electronic Commerce) transactions will be accepted. After verifying that the card is attached to the SEC system, the system will contact the issuing bank so that the buyer can authorize the purchase. Once the bank confirms the authenticity, the charge will be made to the card. Otherwise, the order will be canceled.
The payment gateway we use for your credit card payment is provided by Banco Santander, which encrypts your data using the 256-bit SSL protocol. Our system does not store any banking data from your credit card; instead, it goes directly to the bank’s Ecommerce POS (Point of Sale Terminal).
What is SSL?
The latest advances in browser and server technology have made it possible to use web services without concerns related to electronic fraud. An example of this is Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), developed by Netscape, a security protocol submitted to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) as an Internet draft. Basically, the protocol allows the browser and the server in a web session to authenticate each other and protect the information that will subsequently flow between the two points. By using cryptographic techniques such as encryption and digital signatures, the protocol:
■ Allows browsers and web servers to authenticate each other.
■ Allows website owners to control access to servers, directories, files, or particular services.
■ Allows confidential information (for example, credit card numbers) to be shared between the browser and the server while keeping it inaccessible to third parties.
■ Ensures that data exchanged by the browser and the server cannot be corrupted, whether accidentally or deliberately, without this being detected.
